It is an ATWOOD Mod. G6A-8E 6 gallon when you hit button in coach you can hear igniter clicking but it will not light. If you go outside and pull plug on relay board and reinstall plug it will ignite and heat water but once it gets water heated it will not reignite I have cleaned contacts on board and on plug. Do I need a new circuit board.

The last thing I replaced on my unit was the probe that goes up the flue. There's a black wire attached to a ceramic device that holds a temperature probe. Without this thing working the water heater may not reliably work. I've seen where the wire was compromised and replacing that device the heater work fine afterward.

This piece is less expensive than a board however I don't suggest that you just throw parts at this problem in hopes of being able to fix the problem.

Have a good one!

Try leaving the door on the outside open, heat to cutoff, run hot water down and see if it re lites. If it does, you may have a bad igniter and cable (shorting out on door when closed. Good luck and keep us posted.
