Portable air conditioner question

Hi,

My 2008 Itasca Latitude has a basement air unit, its uses about 27 amp when both compressors are running.

I am thinking of getting a dual hose portable air consitioner, I have space for it where the previous owner removed a recliner and can vent it out a window.

Anyone see any issues with doing this? And can anyone recommend a unit.

I don't see any issues with it. I am thinking about doing this also.

a few things,
NOISE
HEAT from the exhaust duct to outside, its just a plain plastic tube and it will transmit heat into the coach

we had one temporarily and it drove us out of our minds with the noise...plus draining the water pan every few hours

I have one that I use in the stick & bricks, for a 2nd floor guest suite that otherwise doesn't get below 85-86, when the first floor stays in the 70's. It vents through a 5" flex hose (that could easily be insulated, but the is only a couple feet of it), and the condensate evaporates right out, with the warm exhaust.

It could easily cool the RV.

I believe it is a 12K BTU Haier, but it's about 3 years old, or so. Bought it in BJ's Wholesale. I have the A/C onlu unit, but they also make a heatpump version.

Thanks Bill,

The air only unit would be perfect for me.

Just got an LG unit from CostCo. Works great, nothing to drain and cools an 11 x 18 2nd floor bedroom in the s&b.
Not loud either, kind of like white noise.
