My DW would like to know the proper placement. Top or bottom shelf?

Mine just gets placed wherever there is room - it just moves the air around a bit and in a closed reefer wont make a bit of difference where it's placed

Gee that makes me wonder why all these years in several TT and 5ers that mine always worked just fine wherever it was placed

Cold air falls and hot air goes up. With fan on bottom it is capturing the cooler air and pushes it back up.

That is 100% correct but in a closed system, and a very cluttered area all you are looking for is circulation (air movement) so anywhere you place that itty bitty fan will work. If it was an open system, and also with no obstructions then there would be reason to put it on the bottom shelf
