Power gear jack probs??

I have a 2003 bounder with a hydraulic power gear leveling system. All jacks go down but only the back jacks retract. Have to loosen front hose to release oil pressure for front jacks to retract. Coils and valves are good but if I switch out a wire from a back jack solenoid to the front jacks solenoid and use the back jack button to run the front jacks they will go down and retract. This is telling me that the wires from the front jack button will allow the jacks to go down but will not allow them to retract. Wondering what to do to fix the wires so the front jack buttom will allow front jacks to retract.

The problem is probably in your control box. Judging by the year of your coach, you probably have what is referred to as the NEW control.

ANY ONE OR TWO JACKS WILL NOT RETRACT AT ALL;
PROBABLE CAUSE - FUSE ON CONTROL PANEL BLOWN

OLD CONTROL:
  • REPLACE FUSE XF5 FOR FRONT JACK(S) ON TOUCH PAD

NEW CONTROL:
  • REPLACE ‘FRONT LEGS’ FUSE ON CONTROL BOX

Your problem may not sound like it could be a fuse problem, but the mentioned fuse only comes into play on RETRACT.

On EXTEND, the specific valve must be opened and the motor/pump started. This is ONE power path.

On RETRACT, the specific valve (and the dump valve) must be opened, BUT the pump is NOT started. This is a separate power path.

Check that fuse. Good Luck
