Power Gear Leveler Problems

We have a 1997 Bounder 36S with 50 K on it. I noticed last year that all the jacks were leaking but barely. I noticed we were level and went to re-adjust. The jacks became fully extended in the front then I noticed a difference in the sound of the jack motor. It went from its working "Humm" sound to a higher pitched and faster "Whine". I immediately went outside and saw a small stream of fluid running down the front passenger side jack. I retracted the jacks and tested the system to see if it still worked and it didn't. The "Whine" I mentioned is all I get and the jacks won't do anything even after I topped off the reservoir with fluid .

I've pulled the jacks to have them re-built and am left wondering about the motor itself. It seems as though part of the system isn't working. Possibly the impeller is working but not engaging the motor? Or maybe the motor just stopped working. I'm handy but not well versed on hydraulics.

Really looking for advice and what troubleshooting steps to take.....??? It is a Power Gear 500278.

There are also a lot of used Power Gear power units available out there but I have yet to find a 500278. Any words of wisdom on how to select a new one if it's needed ??

It sounds more like the MOTOR is working, but the pump impeller is NOT. The pump could/would not turn without the motor.

You might be able to disassemble the pump and motor to determine what is actually broken.
