Has anybody ever converted a 3 leg system to a 4 leg system if so how hard was it and what was the cost. I have been thinking about doing this if it can be done at a reasonable amount of $$ so please let me know.

Thanks
Dan

Dan, about the only thing that could be used from your present system would be the pump motor and the two rear jacks. Every thing else would have to be replaced and the difference would be 0 from a complete new system or all the parts but the ones that can be use. Sorry. Good luck anyway and enjoy the website.

Hi Dan,

Having had a three leg Power Gear system for about 9 years -- what is causing you to want to switch to a 4 leg????

I too was wondering why you want to change to a 4-leg system. Many of the high-end mh's use three-leg because they don't put any torque on the chassis or body.

Also, the 4-leg Power Gear system functions similar to a 3-leg. In other words the two front jacks are interconnected together so when you level side to side one or the other of the front jacks will ease up if the other is going out and vice-versa.

I have a 4 leg system and it is useless. I can't level from side-to-side without inducing twist into the frame. I went so far as to take measurements under varing conditions and proved that twist was being induced into the frame. I took this subject up with Monaco reps at Lazydays some time back with negative results.
This system is only good for for/aft leveling. I use boards if I have to level side-to-side and use the jacks as stabilizers.
