Power plug
I recently had an issue with my plug to the coach coming loose, I determined that it was due to a combination of the coach moving around as they all do and the tension of the heavy cord pulling down on the plug connection. You can see by my photos what the issue was and the remedy that I decided to do. I bought a right angle plug adapter to relieve the tension on the plug. I had to rotate the coach male connector to match the new plug, that took a total of ten minutes max.

That is a really good solution.
I never had that type of connection but had seen it on a friends RV and thought it looked like a problem waiting to happen.

I've been considering getting one of these too. Is this the model with the twist lock on both ends made by Camco?

This adapter has the twist lock female 50amp to connect to the trailer and the twist lock male 50amp to plug your cord into it instead of plugging your cord directly to the trailer.

This seems to be a fairly common problem. It begs the question, why don't they just manufacture the detachable cables with a 90º end on them in the first place? Oh, wait. If they did that, they wouldn't be able to sell you a $40-50 aftermarket adapter.

That looks like a replacement end on the cord in the first picture. The original end probably had an angle plug.

I have the detachable 50A anaconda power cord with the 'straight' plug.
I have TWO 50A receptacles on my 5vr that I can plug cord into.....one rear and one front
Marinco Brand
You have to align up slots, push plug into receptacle and then turn it which locks it in place...then there is the 'retaining ring' that you screw down making it a 'wet proof tight' connection
Plug/receptacles are going on 9 yrs old...........first 7 yrs we FTd traveling weekly
No issues
The 90* plug looks like a good replacement IF you have issues
OP.......
Did your old plug 'twist and lock in place' OR just push in?????

My original plug wss the twist lock. I found that the counterclockwise torque of the coil memory was an issue that contributed to the loosening when the coach moved around. I will still be keeping an eye on it even with the 90 elbow. I just hate the idea of that kind of tension.
