problems with Instamatic fridge

Hello,
I have a 1974 Dodge Amigo. It has an Instamatic gas electric fridge. The gas portion seems to work fine, but the electric portion doesn't seem to do anything. Does the fridge draw directly from a 120 volt source or is it usually power inverted from the DC system. I was having problems with my DC inverter, but I fixed that problem. All the fuses in the unit are fine and none are labeled fridge. I wouldn't think that the fridge would run off of a 12 volt source, but I'm really new to this.

I have completely followed the directions on the panel of the fridge and I'm not an electrical dummy, so please be frank in helping me diagnose this problem.

I also wanted to add that none of the circuit breaker switches have been tripped. None of them are labeled as fridge or anything close.

Have you checked the 120 volt receptacle for power? If you have power then check to see if power is getting to the heating element (120 volts ac). If so and you still do not get any heat out of it, the heating element is bad. If you do not get any power to the element then the switch is bad.
