Progressive Surge Protector Issue
I purchased a Progressive hardwired 50A Surge Protector about 5 1/2 years ago. Recently when I plugged into shore power, the LCD display went nuts just flashing all the lights with no specific indication of an error code.
I called Progressive and they said that it appeared that the controller board was not working. They said they would mail me new boards at "No Cost". I received the boards in a few days, swapped them out and the surge protector is working as it should.
What a great company that stands behind their products like Progressive Ind does. I wish all of them were like this.
Great start to a new year. Happy New Years everyone.
btw, if you do not have a surge protector, then get one. They protect all the valuable electronics in your rig.

I LOVE MY PI HW 50A surge protector with remote readout! In the next week I am trading my Winnebago in for a DSDP that has the Surge Guard model. That is also a great unit but no remote display.
PI also was responsive to an initial installation issue I had with my unit. GREAT SERVICE!

Thanks for the report. It's good to know that they are continuing their lifetime warranty. I purchased one last year and couldn't be happier.

THe park power went a little nuts during a storm. My PI surge protector protected the coach, unfortunately it burnt a board in the process. PI replaced the board and returned it to me in 2 days. No cost. Great vendor

My 50 amp Progressive Surge Protector saved me twice on our Alaskan trip. Both times were open grounds. One in a KOA in Ohio which they repaired immediately and the other a small camp ground in Sitka, Ak. which I used the adjacent hook up. Both times the test sequence the surge protector ran through did not allow the circuit to be completed. Would not travel without one.

We installed one also, after low voltage at an Rv park burned up the puny wires in our new Splendide W/D !! The W/D got trucked back to Clackamas Oregon via I-90, quick for repair, but we learned a good lesson. You never know what kind of wiring those older Rv parks have ! We have observed the P.I. EMS pop off, then resume; happy to know it works. Even better to know its a stand-up company.

Had the Surge Guard on our '11 Ventana and it was fine. You will like itI am sure. I think the Progressive has a bit more engineering and features than the Surge Guard, so we went with it on our '13 Dutch Star -- that being said, we never had a hiccup with the Surge Guard.
Btw, sincerest congratulations on moving up from your Winnie to your Dutch Star. Very exciting, I am sure! I think you and your wife are headed for being very happy.
