Unhappy Propane problem

Everything worked fine in our RV one weekend and the next nothing would work that used propane. No hot water, no furnace, no stove, no fridge unless electric was available. This is in a 1999 SouthWind Class-A. The tank is full. What could cause something like this? We can't find any valves or anything that could have somehow been closed. There are no leaks that we detect anywhere. Anyone have a suggestion or a clue?

You are not at a high altitude are you? Then, make certain the LP leak detector is working properly. Your rig is in the era of the LP detector controlling a solenoid shut off valve near the tank. It will need 12 vdc to open it. The next culprit could be a bad regulator.

I just deleted my reply. My husband is taking it in to the shop to have the tech there check it out. Propane can be dangerous so he doesn't want to mess with it himself. Thanks for the quick reply.

But no we're not at high altitude here in Middle TN. Batteries are new and fully charged. Probably the solenoid or regulator.

It was the new Propane alarm stopping the gas from entering the RV. The tech fixed the problem in less than an hour and all is well now. The new alarm never crossed our minds.

More than likely the installer did not connect both the 12 volt conductor and the shut off valve conductor together at the new detector with only one conductor in. Glad you got it fixed.

Yes, it was something like that - something with the wires. Something simple we never would have thought of.
