Propane Regulator Leaking!

Trying to work some bugs out of a '96 National Tropi-Cal that has been in storage for about 5 years.

Propane tanks is 3/4 full and when tank valve is turned on propane gas (no liquid) begins flowing from regulator vent.

I am assuming regulator is bad, or do I have another problem?

Hi rokyrd,
No propane should be coming from the regulator vent. They are only about $20 at your local RV store. Due to the age of the part, consider replacing it.

We consider replacement of the propane regulator every 5 years normal maintainance due to build up of 'grunge' from the less than ideal propane sold in southern states.

Our experience is that the regulator will fail to deliver on cold days as it gets older.

Sounds like yours has a cracked diaphram. Yes, replace it.
