Yellow flame indicates too much air, there should be
an adjustment for the air/fuel mix between the knob
and the burner. Often it is a sliding metal cover with
a screw to hold the setting.

Too much air or too little fuel - either way the air/fuel mixture is too lean. One possible cause is a failed pressure regulator - too little fuel pressure. Another is air adjustment. You didn't mention what make of stove it is, but there may be an air adjustment on it as described in the previous post. However since this problem started recently, the regulator sounds like a better bet to me. The air adjustment shouldn't change by itself.

Cleaning the orifice is a good thing but you may also need to clean the rest of the parts where gas passes through. After time carbon will build up inside the tubes and burners and restrict gas flow. Your local propane company will have someone who can do this professionally and with the proper gear.

I will disagree with the failed regulator, that would reduce the fuel flow it's true but so does "turning it down" via the knob.

I'd go with the air shutter .. NOTE: if you get selected chemicals on the burner you will get a yellow flame too.. SODIUM for example... That's 1/2 of table salt.

A very slight yellow tip is normal with LP gas.
Did you clean out the burners with a vacuum? Dust builds up in there ?
You should be able to adjust the air to the burner.
Do you have 11" water column LP gas pressure to the stove as measured with a manometer ?
