There are basically only two batteries for this discussion.
Optima and everything else,, I will discuss everything else first.

Group 24 will be about 75 AH
Group 27 about 95
Group 29 100-105
Group 31 130
Size 4D 220 (give or take about 10)
Size 8d Same as 4d
A pair of GC-2 Golf Car batteries in series Again 220 give or take about 10 (rthogh you can get some bigger if you can mount them check space first)

This applies to all types (Starting, MARINE/deep cycle and DEEP CYCLE (Golf car)

For Optima.. Multiply the above by 60% (0.60)

Now. True DEEP CYCLE like the GC-2, you can use up to about half the power before rapid aging sets in and if you go to an "oh C***!" level discharge... Good chance of recovery

MARINE/deep cycle about 25% or less and .. Well they MIGHT recover but ..
Starting 15-20 percent tops and little chance of recovery.

Brand does not matter (Well maky make a small difference)..

You really want a TRUE DEEP CYCLE battery. Like the GC-2
