I have a 2000 Adenturer. It has electric/gas heat hot water tank. When the hot water is run the tank has a very low rattling noise in it and the hot water pipe leading from the heater has a slight vibration in it.Any idea what might be causing these?

Maybe the check valve or maybe the hot water line close to the heater is loose.

Have you turned off the heater and drained it recently? You should start here.Open a hot water line so air can be pushed out for refilling and open a cold water line or pop off so air is allowed in for draining. Flush out any sediment that has accumulated in the bottom of tank. Close pop off and refill tank with cold water until if comes out the hot water vlave already opened. You may be hearing the check valve acting like a metering devise and a harmonic vibration is heard. THere is not buch you can do about this but if you were pulling water through sediment this can also cause a usually lower pitch vibration or noise. Check the piping and you can cut down on some of the noise but you will not be able to totally eliminate it. Good luck.

Rattling can indicate a dirt build up in the tank. Flush it.
