Red light/Onan generator/wont start

I have a onan generator with my class A. Recently I was on a long boon dock trip and had to use the generator multiple times to recharge battery.

On the last weekend, after I used the generator for a few hours, I turned it off. Went back about 5 hours later and tried to start again. Failed to start.

Prior to that happening, there was one more item to describe. Most times, the house batteries were pretty low. The remote switch inside the RV would not work. It turns green, but does not start. I go outside and push the button on the generator and it starts.

The last weekend, same thing, won't start inside RV, go to push the button on the Generator and the light glows RED. Not blinking, just RED. Does not stop.

Anyone have ideas, the owner's manual has no info on this scenario. It talks about blinking lights, no solid RED light.

War Eagle!

may be an issue with the remote wiring harness. If the pigtail was used instead of the full length harness, there can be some crimped connections near the generator that are susceptible to weather. I had an issue once where those wires were shorted and the stop wire was shorted to ground. Trying to start the generator, it was getting a start and stop command at the same time, so weird stuff happened.

first thing I would try would be to disconnect the remote harness and try to start the generator. The disconnect for the wiring harness is only a few feet long. If you don't see it near the generator, sometimes they make the connection then tuck it inside the generator.

second thing I would check would be coach battery state of charge and try to jump it if low.

I am hook up to my house with full 50 amp connected. Batteries are in 'Float' mode on the inverter remote inside RV.

I am not using a remote. I am pushing the start button on the generator itself. I recently replace my house batteries, but the generator worked after that was completed.

The inverter is working fine with no issues. It shows AC in, Inverting Green, and 'Float' on charging house batteries.

Any other ideas?
