Being new to iRV2 my question my have been covered before my arrival here so I apologize if it has, but is anyone familiar with a solar operated fan that mounts on RV refrig chimney that cools the coils. I do not know the name of such device but have been told that in extremely hot climates it really helps the refrig cool without as much labor by producing a better flow of air over coils. Anyone know of such a device? Pro/Cons?

You can find members who have installed this "Camco RV Refrigerator Solar Roof Vent" but I have not heard how much air it moves. I believe Amazon.com sells them (go figure) and they have customer comments.

You may also want to look at another approach by one of our members, Tincup @http://www.irv2.com/forums/f54/refrigerator-vent-fans-again-92460.html
Pretty sure that this is going to move a lot more air than the solar version with 1 fan.

I believe the Camco is the one. Not sure if needed for non-full timer but could be nice for full times spending tme in SW. A friend I talked with who installed one, maybe two, on his Dutch, claimed a big reduction in refrig temp while staying around ABQ, NM.

Save your money on the Camco fans as their quality/efficiency leaves much to be desired. Very poor quality. If you want to move the air over the coils in the outside compartment where your fridge stuff is located, buy (2) 4 inch computer 12v fans, Radio Shack,Best Buy, and mount them to the frame where the vented cover goes. Connect the fans to a 12v source in that compartment and control them with a toggle/rocker switch. We had ours installed in July/2010 before going to Vegas where it was 112 degrees. On a setting of 6-7 our Norcold was -5, -10 in the freezer and 34-36 in the box. Just click on the other posters link for other suggestions. Refrigerator vent fans (again)
