Did you try puting a fan at base of coils at bottom of frige access door to see if temp drops in box. A large refer I think should have fans for cooling those hot cooling coils.

You could have had a restriction in the system and it has temporarily cleared. You may be able to use it until the restrition (usually flakes of sodium cromate) blocks up a port again. It can happen at any time. The system may work for a year or a day. If you do have this type of probelm be prepared to move food at a moments notice when it quits. Adding a fan for hot wheater is a good idea for a cooling unit that is working properly but will not fix a sick unit.

Mike I understand that he might have a defective cooling unit but this summer ran into some that with large refers it turned out their fans or thermal switch was not working or never had fans installed. Would just place a fan tempo at door for refer to see if it wasn't the cooling unit or they did need fans to get box temp down. Sometimes it worked other times they had big trouble.

Roger, I agree. Even the smaller ref. could use some help in hot weather with a fan. I have even found some units installed improperly by good coach builders. GO figure!
