I found a deal on 2 cooling fans in a case for $9.95 from Radio shack to use in the back of my refrigerator. Now I have a question on a thermostat to control it? Could I use a cheep digital thermostat for a furnace - A/C or one of the manual types like Honeywell? Would I need to use a relay to power the fans o would the thermostat handle the draw?

Why not just install a by-metal T'stat of 130 - 150 degrees in series with the fan motors? What refrigerator do you have? This will determine the correct temp of the T'stat.

Not sure what a by-metal T'stat is? Do you have a model or brand name? Some thing like this? Dometic DM2852

I would assume that you presently don't have a fan and t-stat installed on the rear of your refrigerator?

Here are two photos I recently took for a different post...one is the cooling fan and the other is the control t-stat mounted on the coil.
Its a Norcold 841 unit.

Your link to Thermo-disk does show these are the bi-metal thermostats I was referring to. I believe Dometic is using a 120 degree cut in temperature rated T'stat for your model.

Thats a help. And there is no cooling fan on the back and with the 115 temps over the weekend it was 44 to 50 in the box. Freezer was around 17 to 20. Thought it might help since it is in the sun in the after noon. Will stop by some RV stores while I'm out.
