Refrigerator Not Cooling - Now What?

I own a 1 year Little Guy Max trailer camper that I bought brand new. It has a small Dometic refrigerator in it that runs off AC, DC, or Propane.

I am 2 months into a 5 month trip, and just like last year, the refrigerator has stopped cooling on all power sources. It cools a little bit, but at about 60 degrees. The gas light is lite so the propane is getting in.

The challenge I have is that it is under warranty. I call the mfg. and they say take it someplace. When ever I call "someplace", they are booked 2-3 weeks out. When I get someone that does mobile repair, they say if it needs a part it may take two to three weeks.

This is the SECOND time this has happened to me. Should I sell the trailer?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I think selling the trailer might be a little extreme. Why not just replace the fridge if you can't get it fixed?

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Actually getting an appointment for just 2 to 3 weeks out is actually not bad for an RV.

If you get the mobile guy to check it out you may find it is something simple and if not you will know , hopefully, what the problem is.
That solution would be cheaper than the lose you would take on selling it.

Good luck

Terry

How about posting the actual MODEL Number.........then more specific answer can be posted.

SECOND time.......what was issue 1st time?

What is the DC Voltage TO the fridge?
Most modern day/even small cabinet 3-ways need GOOD DC Voltage to function

Is trailer (FRIDGE) level?
Off level ops WILL retard/stop cooling process

Have you checked backside of fridge to visually see if any obstruction is going on to prevent GOOD Ventilation?
Draft/Airflow is CRITICAL to good cooling

Does it cool on 120VAC?
Does it cool on 12VDC while towing?
wouldn't run it on DC Mode while stationary---DC Heater will drain battery FAST

Answers....and might be able to help.
