I just purchased a used travel trailer and for the first 3 weeks the fridge has worked fine. Here a few days ago I got back and it was not cooling at all. It is a Dometic RM2652. It doesnt work on either AC or LP. When I put it on LP after a bit the "check" light pops on. I have plenty of LP but it doesnt try to light it when its in that mode. Removed cover from back and checked 3 and 5 amp fuses and they are ok. No smell or sign of amonia leak. All fuses inside camper are fine as well. If anyone has any suggestions that I might try to get this working besides taking it in at this point would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Chris

Hi cshelton,
The fridge needs 12 VDC on gas and electric. If you are comfortable working with a meter, make sure you have 12 VDC getting to the control board. Test for 12 VDC out of the control board. You'll need to get the wiring diagram. If you have voltage in but none out, the control board is bad. If your unit has a thermistor to sense temp inside the refrigerator compartment carefully remove the thermistor from it plastic housing. Put the tip in a glass of ice water. In 5 minutes go to the thermistor connection on the control board. The OHM reading should be between 7000 and 10000 Ohms. If the thermistor checks good the control board is suspect. Make sure the thermistor is on the far right hand fin and the thermistor remains in contact with the fin. Remember the slider moves up to lower the temp and down to raise the temp. The thermistor need not be slide up so far on the fin to be on the taper. Keep it on the "fat" of the fin.

These are the two items (thermistor and control board) that will stop a refrigerator regardless of fuel (gas.electric).

Got it figured out! The board in the back of the unit was fine...the problem was the board in the front that controlled the on/off and auto/gas buttons....37 buck for a new one and its working like a charm....I appreciate the help with the issue.

Thanks
Chris
