Look in the burner area for cobwebs, critter nests, and leaves. Most of the time what your seeing is all about cleaning.

Once you have the burner area cleaned up, verify electrode gap is 3/16". Starting up the unit on gas it is going to take some time to purge the air out of the line. I suggest you retry start up by switching to "Off" and then back on until it fires up. It may take as many as 15 tries before you get the fuel to the burner. If you get ignition and good burn and the unit still shuts down after about 15 seconds, then we have another issue. Good luck and keep us posted.

We had a similiar problem with our refrigerator also, we swithched over to gas and it said OK, in about a minute it started clicking and the gas light flickered. The problem was the 12v battery was low, once we regained sufficent 12v power the unit worked fine. JMTCW.

And to pick up on this. When coming out of storage, I find if I turn on my generator and run refrig on electric for 15 or 20 minutes then it runs fine on gas. I have had my refrig serviced recently so its in good shape.
After I have done this then I have gone for weeks on a trip with no problems.
Can be for just giving those house batteries a kick or heating up the burner tube.
The other thing to check, I have gas detector in coach and if I forget to turn it on then the refrig will not light until I do.
In any case if coming from storage I light all 3 burners on my stove and get gas moving before even starting to light the refrig.

Hi. We kind of have a similar problem with our 1996 22' Hi-Lo. Water heater, stove and furnace all work well. Dometic fridge works well on electric. I hold the flame button as directed and it doesn't ignite. My gauge with needle never goes to green. We bought this unit used and have no owner's manual and are leaving for Texas Friday early a.m. Also can anyone tell me what the tire pressure should be. Unit weighs 3700 pounds. Thanks

Get the tire information on the sidewall and go to the manufacturer's website for a pressure chart. Be sure that the weight you use in the chart is the actual loaded weight of the unit. Be sure the tires are not more than 6 years old and are in good visual condition. The date of manufacture is on the side wall (most of the time on the back side) in a rectangle box. Example: [1905] would be the 19th week of 2005.
It takes lp gas to the ref. a long time to purge the air out of the line, since it is such a small orfice to the burner. You may have to try and lite it many time to accomplish this procedure. With this said, the burner, igniter and flue of the unit shout be cleaned and inspected for proper operation. You may want a qualified individual to do this for you. Take care and keep us posted.

The gas control senses the heat of the flame when lit and allows gas to pass through the control to the gas burner. The purpose of pressing the button and holding it in allows gas to pass through the control to the burner without the burner being lit. So.......hold the button down and keep a flame at the pilot area . When gas finally reaches the pilot area it will ignite. Continue to hold the button down for an additional 30 seconds after the gas is lit. At that point you should be able to release the button and the flame should stay lit.
