Refrigerator Remote Alarm

I am in the market for a Refrigerator Temp Monitor and Alarm.

I was under the impression I could pick this up at my local Camping World but in looking the the online catalog I cannot find one.

In searching I see Chaney makes them.

Can anyone give me some recommendations?

How do you plan on useing the temperature monitor and alarm.
While you occupy the coach?
Or when you are away from it?

Only when on a trip. I might be away for the afternoon or evening. I would not use it when I return and store as I do not leave the refrig operating in storage.

Alarm is not as big of a deal as being able to see the temp in freezer and lower compartment visually. My wife is somewhat of a temp watcher and opens the door to check the temp with the little thermometer.

We use the Chaney units. You can set the high and low temp for both the freezer and refrigerator sending units. It chimes if those temps. are exceeded and needs to be reset to stop the alarm. It also records the max. and min. reached until reset. It has worked out well for us, specially since the Norcold was giving us some grief. Gives us some confidence as to how cool our food is kept. It surprised us as to how much the temperatures do vary.

I have used typical indoor/outdoor remote thermometers (like Oregon Scientic) in freezers and refrigs often. Have no problems getting the signal to the indoor master. We frequently travel on the road using the inverter to run a small freezer and monitor the temp when we do.

This is what I did for my refrigerator and a small freezer. I did it because I am gone from my trailer for a month or more at a time and this way I can check to see it had a period where it may have shut down for some reason. Found them at Lowe’s.
