I just want to let our members (especially new members) know that there is a wealth of information available on this website about common RV repairs for both do-it-yourselfers and others . To illustrate that I would like to share my recent experience ....
As usual I waited until Friday morning to check that the Cougar was ready for a stay as we had a housefull coming and needed a place to sleep (and recover but...). The quick restocking and check of heat/water etc revealed that I had no flow from the hot water faucets including the shower

...a major problem looming the next morning as being a creature of habit I can't function until the shower and coffee are completed. After checking the few obvious solutions my next move was to return home to the computer and use the search engine here to type in "hot water heater problem" and then look for "no flow" and within 3 minutes had found the problem and several solutions

! I chose the one that was easiest for me to do at the time (disassemble the check valve , clean/repair reassemble) and within 60 minutes had hot water flowing. I'm pretty handy and have done lots of plumbing etc over the last 50 years and had NO IDEA that there was a check valve on the outlet of the tank...
I have a new valve ready to put in next week when I find the appropriate washer as I suspect it may act up again but my main point is that the information from here was invaluable in terms of saving time, frustration and money

.
Thanks so much to the sponsors, dedicated moderators and members for making this such a wonderful site.
