Replaced the nonfunctional HW heater element today
Upon replacing the nonfunctional HW heater element today this is what I was able to extract.
I left the other piece in the bottom of the tank because I couldn't easily get a hold of it.
This is a 10-year old 10-gallon Atwood Electric/Gas hot water heater, and it works much better now.

This shows why it's a good idea to flush out the H/W tank once in awhile because of all the minerals you can pick up at different campgrounds. The worst I ever saw was in the Mesa, AZ. area.
