Replacement LP Detector

Hi,

I just checked the date on my coach's LP detector and its 12 years old. I read they should be changed at 7 years, is this true?

If it needs changing can anyone recommend one that will fit the same slot?

Thanks,

Edit: Found a replacement on Amazon.

HMMMMMMM Have to check mine tomorrow for the date.

Did you just type in the model number on Amazon and it popped up? If you don't mind my asking how much are they?

Whatever it is its cheap insurance. I have a CO2 detector that I added in my bedroom area and added a couple regular smoke detectors as well. Cant be too safe!

Hi Glen,

I got one for about 50$. I googled first for a drop in replacement and found a part number on a Winnie forum. I took the part number and searched Amazon. I then put the old number in to the product questions and multiple folks said it was a drop in replacement.

Thanks, Unicorn.... I took my detector out today and it was dated 1999!!!
Went on Amazon as you said, found one that looked like what I had, and when I checked under details it listed my number as one it replaced. Cost was $51.00.

Cheap insurance! Thanks for the tip and reminder. I didn't even know they were replaceable.

Hi Glen,

I did not know they were replaceable either until recently.
My new one said to replace every 5 years. The one I got said manufactured in March 2019.
