FW has a Thetford AquaMagic IV that we want to replace. I'm tall and have bad knees so I want a tall toilet and I think I want china rather than plastic. I have never used an RV toilet so I don't know what to expect.

I've read as much as I can about toilets here and have done some research online and I think I've narrowed my choices to the following, but would like feedback. Reports of leaks, foot flush falling off, etc., are a little scary to a camping neophyte like me!

Will probably be using the FW a couple of weekends a month on average.

My candidates (in no particular order) are:

SeaLand Traveler 510H
Dometic 310
Thetford Aqua Magic Style Plus

How necessary/useful is the sprayer? Our toilet is in the same room as the shower, so it wouldn't be a big deal to get water from the shower faucet if extra is needed for some reason.

Will probably order from PPL and they're having a sale through Friday. Of course, they may just have a new sale after that. I haven't been shopping there long enough to know how that works.

Thanks,

liz

IMHO from the 2 MHs we have had is that I would not be without the sprayer and think they would be handy on residential toilet.

The current MH has a SeaLand Traveler. Without digging out the paperwork can't say what model. Right now it will not hold water in the bowl. From reading the manual it looks like it is the gasket, ball or spring. Doesn't look too hard to repair but we are waiting to get home from snowbirding and not need it before taking it apart. It came with a cleaning kit for the gasket but that didn't do the trick.

It is 6 or 7 years old unless the previous owner replaced it so I can't complain.

I would go with the Dometic Sea Land Traveler 510. I have replaced the ball and seal on two of them. It is easy to do.

If you go to this SITE
you can download a chart that shows which toilets replace the one you have. It gives the dimensions of the various models and indicates which ones are direct replacements.

We got a Bravura tall model and also have an aftermarket riser to lift it a couple of inches higher yet. The risers are available at RV stores.
