Mounting most important...rubver grommets or pad good. Better if fasteners don't connect pump to backing.
Many boaters use 2 short pieces of soft. .unreinforced vinyl hose longer that the span between pump mtg feet... cut ends at 45* nut & bolt pump to top of hose by accessing at 45* to tighten nut.
Then mount bottom of hoses to backing w screws or nut &bolt if access allows.
Side note... some minor noise is a benefit if the pump becomes air locked it runs continuously and can burn out. If it is silent you won't hear it to correct it.
Easy fix... usually openning a faucets lets the air escape and the pump to prime.
Also worthy of note... most pumps have rebuild kits available for diaphram and pressure Sw... problem I see is if you don't know what will fail and want to have both on hand it's getting close to the cost of a spare pump. If one fails and you replace w the spare don't toss the old figure out whats bad and repair w the correct repair kit. You now still have a spare for less than half cost of new.
Great advice, I do appreciate it.
