Residental fridge
For those of you who have replaced the fridge with a Samsung what have you done with the access door for the outside. I have seen a solid access door on some coaches. I think that would help keep the dust out of the back of the fridge. Mine has the standard vented door and the roof vent still open. The fridge is almost air tight around the front ( no cold air coming inside). Where can I buy a solid access door to fit, I have only found the ones with vents in them..

I can't answer your question but I would think a fridge of any type should have good ventilation for them to work properly. Before replacing the access door with a solid one I'd make sure it would still be getting adequate air flow somehow.

I still have the roof vent open as with the Norcold so any heat would rise and exit. I have heard of others that blocked some of the vents in the door somehow. I wonder how they did that??

No need for outside air on mine, I do have all the vents closed off, our residential fridge had been closed off for over 5 years and have no problem. Your s & b has no outside air for it to work correctly. I also closed off the roof vent when I installed my solar panels.
I would like to do the something with my cover, but of course mine has 4 different colors going right thru the cover.

I met a guy with a 2007 Executive with a factory res fridge and his has a solid panel made out of heavy sheet metal from the factory. If I found a solid one I would have to have strips painted 3 colors. I will have to call REV to see if they have them still.

Don't know as I've never seen it done.
I'm making the assumption this Samsung fridge is a residential type with a compressor?
If so the refrigerator still needs air circulation for it to cool the compressor otherwise it will overheat and shorten its life expectancy. If it doesn't need outside air for ventilation it will need ventilation from the inside and that is usually through the bottom often aided by a fan. I only mention this in case ventilation was overlooked in your conversion planning. Cheers.

With my Samsung I covered the outside vent. I used EarthBond tape on the in side of the louvers.
I didn't have a roof vent to cover because my refrigerator is in the slide.

I screened the outside cover on the inside, attached the screen with Silicone, once it dried I spray foamed it, when that dried I cut the foam (it expands) so the cover could be reinstalled. The roof vent I used the Eternabond tape to close off the holes in the upper cover, spray foamed the screen at the roof level.
Ours vents to the interior, I left almost a 1" gap on top and the bottom is wide open to the interior, sides are trimmed off with wood to match the cabinet.
What I found was in cold weather the compressor will not turn on if the wall vent is open (safety protection, oil is to cold to operate), if I left the roof open when the wind blows outside it would come down the back and into the interior.

Residental fridge
My prior mh I spray foamed the door openings after sealing with tape then closed the roof vent with tape and foamed it also this left the door able to be opened to access the power plug and rear lower part of the fridge
The vents are there for the old absorption norcold / dometic that used [emoji91] a flame and very high heat to create the cold. Compressor refrigerator do not use high heat or need combustion venting .
The Samsung vents / air circulation via the bottom the same as in your home and is warm but not “hot”. Your a/c can easily overcome that small addition .
The plus is Closing it off eliminates drafts and cold or heat entering. Just leave the bottom front “open” to airflow and don’t put insulation against the sides or back.

I can't find anywhere the solid aluminum access door as some Monaco coaches have so I will look into sealing the door. I have been all over the internet looking for the solid door but no luck at all.
Thanks for all the responses and ideas

Dave, if you use spray foam, tape the front of the cover with painters tape, just in case the foam makes its way to the front side. That stuff is tough to remove from paint.
I can see from your signature we have done the same stuff to our coaches. I replaced the propane cooktop with a True Induction also and removed my propane tank, floored the bay for more storage. I'm assuming you have Aquahot also?

Jleamo1, I have not removed the propane tank yet. It is next to the fuel tank and I don’t think it will come out the door. How did you get yours out??
Wife loves the cooktop, she is still figuring out how to use it.
Love the Aqua Hot. Had to replace it as previous owner must of let it freeze. One morning woke up to AH fluid leaking out of overflow tank, $$$...

Mine came out the passenger side, fairly easy to my surprise. 4 bolts from underneath remove the line and a helper.
