I was confused as to your statement "Racing".
I now think what you call racing, is the Current/Amp that is shown on the display.

Let me start with the display. If you do not have the BMK kit installed, the value shown on the display is a calculated value. If you were to install the BMK kit, the current value would be accurate. Next, what other DC items are turned on, when you return?

Bulk - All the current the unit can deliver
Absorption - Constant Voltage (depended on battery type or custom setting)
Float - Voltage around 13.3, based on the above line and what DC items on turned on.
