we're interested in installing a reverse osmosis and/or water softener system in our motor home and would like to hear from others who have looked into this or have had experience in installing such systems.

Hi -

Welcome to irv2.com. We're glad you're here.

I created a shortcut to the "RV SYSTEMS AND APPLIANCES" forum, to help you get more info and input from additional folks.

HTH,
Ron

you can get complete RO systems on Ebay for around $80.i installed mine in about 2 hours. 100gph and 5 stage is about the best.been using ours for about 3 years now.system hooks into your fresh water tank.

Haven't added an RO unit yet, but I have been messing around with water softeners. I wanted a unit that would counter the normally hard water that I have found at camp grounds and keep the water system free from scale. Here is a (link) to the one I use. I have found it easy to "rejenerate" and use. Continued testing has proven that it really can go a long time between "rejenerations".

If you use the find button right above your name, type in those two words, you'll get more info than you are looking for!
