Rubber Wheel Chocks Stink
I bought some black rubber wheel chocks from Harbor Freight a couple of months ago.
They produce an odor that I would like to eliminate from the basement of the rig.
I had hoped the odor would go away after passage of time, soaking in soap and water, and standing in the hot sun for several days.
Can anyone recommend a different treatment that worked for them?

Cheap Chinese junk. Get rid of them. Get the chocks available from Fastway products. Work great, don't smell. That's funny.

Key words "Harbor Freight". I bet over time the smell would go away, but how long? who knows.... Yes, I have bought stuff there, but I do not expect much as far as quality. Some good some bad.

The good part is they last forever unlike those yellow plastic ones. I never noticed an odor, but then I keep them in the truck bed.

The only sure treatment I can think of comes in the form of a 4' X 8' Steel Bin with a hinged lid.

I have the same ones from HF and after a year and a half, they still have a slight odor. I just keep 'em in the rear compartment so I don't have to smell 'em. It's that cheap Chinese rubber which others have complained about their tires. The good thing is they are stout and work well.

I purchased a set from some semi-truck supply. They stink too! I figure the will air out eventually.

Thanks for the creative ideas.
I guess a air tight plastic bag or container is a containment option vs the cleansing fix for this investment .

I've had a set of the black rubber HF chocks for about four years. They smell like rubber if you hold them up near your nose. Just like my Michelin tires of the same age. They also smell like rubber.
