Running two space heaters causes Resi Fridge to stop cooling
Hey guys,
So we have an interesting problem we're encountering this year, we are full timers spending our second winter in the RV. We installed a RF18 Samsung Fridge and Xantrex FW3012 inverter a few months ago and have been loving it. We also though we would outsmart the system this winter by installing an electric fireplace in the front of the RV to compliment out small space heater we use back in the bedroom to cut down on the propane usage for heat.
However all of sudden we've narrowed down that if we have both space heaters on at the same time, it appears the fridge cant power up its compressor. We're currently in a 50 amp campsite and both heaters on only draws about 25 amps according to our power panel.
We have definitely identified that if we only run one heater, the fridge works as normal. Two heaters and the fridge starts warming up.
Any ideas how we could keep two electric heaters and the fridge running?
oh forgot to mention, 2003 Fleetwood Bounder 38N DP
Thanks,
Brett

My question to you. How many outlets are run thru 1 circuit breaker ? including the frig. Simple you are overloading the one circuit breaker.
Another is do you have a Inverter/Charger? If yes, those same outlets are connected to the same circuit inside the inverter/charger.
Is your MH a diesel ? if yes, then tap off of the engine block heater circuit and add another outlet. Do you have a onboard washer/dryer. Use that outlet.

If you're running everything through the inverter since it's only 3000 W I would assume it's automatic overload protection is kicking in.
25 A x 120 V = 3000 Watts

yes we do have a washer and dryer so i will try and use that plug, i assumed it was because we were overloading that one circuit, i think the RV has two 120V circuits, one for the left side of the RV which seems to run directly off shore power and the right side of the RV's 120 runs through the inverter charger

When needed, I slip a flat outlet extension cord through the corner of the main slide and connect it to one of the 20 amp outlets. Running a second space heater. Pull the slide in about 3 inches to get the cord through then fully open the slid. Works perfect.
