RV rated smoke detectors?

I’m adding smoke detectors with wireless interlink in my electrical and inverter bays, and would like to replace the CO detector in the bedroom with one that will be linked to the basement detectors.

I’ve seen some detectors that are “RV rated” but can’t find out what that rating entails.

I know that the difference is not the operating temperature range as I’ve seen both RV and residential detectors with the same 40-100 degree operating range.

Does anyone know what the differences are?

IMHO "RV rated" smoke detectors are just another attempt to mark up the price of an item claiming that somehow the product has been ruggedized for the RV environment. We've seen this for other electronics items.

FWIW I used these smoke detectors in my basement bays so I could put one in the living area that would alarm if the downstairs ones came on. That way we would be sure to hear the downstairs detector: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I’ve got some First Alert detectors that will announce the alarm location, and will add the linked CO/smoke detector in the bedroom.

I think the RV rated ones are less sensitive due to the small space they monitor so you can due some cooking with out setting it off. The detector in out s/b bedroom started to do the low battery chirp at 136 am the other day and my first thought was that sob went off 24 minutes early.

RV televisions are supposed to be "ruggedized" as someone said, to withstand the extra vibrations. If you look at new RV's they have ordinary TV's in them now.
I replaced my OEM detectors with off-the-shelf from Lowes, they sound no more often than the OEM's did.(unless I'm cooking)

Off topic, I once owned a 16 yr old Morgan horse for my daughter that could outrun a Quarter horse running 4-H barrels and flags; she won state the only time she went.

I asked about this as well when I needed to replace an old one.

In the end, I replaced with the new model version of the original: new model is I9050 and it uses the same bracket.
