Sorry, I know there's already a thread with this topic, but it's almost 2 years old and when I tried posting there, it said my reply was "unnecessary."

We recently purchased our Challenger rv by Keystone, and it has the remote control thermostat. My husband and I have both had problems with it. Our most recent problem is that our directv remote control will now change the settings on our a/c when we change the channel. Since we're in Texas (it's HOT!!!) and our high temps have been close to 100 degrees lately, it's a HUGE problem when our heater comes on. The air conditioner works fine, but I wish we had a traditional thermostat, so I can just set it and leave it alone. It seems like we're having to fuss with this remote all the time.

Any ideas?

If it is responding to a receiver remote, is it an infrared? If so, find the little receiver window on the thermostat and put a piece of electrical tape (or a band aid) over it.
