Samsung fridge on inverter
Installed Samsung RF18 working fine on shore power . Installed Xantrex 2000
for fridge power when driving. Turned on inverter and fridge failed to start , inverter never showed that fridge was drawing power. Went back to shore power and fridge took 7 minutes to start cooling again. Didn't hook back up to inverter to see if fridge brain needs that much time to start. Does this seem normal for fridge to start. Temp gauge on fridge showed a temp rise of about 6 degrees but didn't start cooling process. I am thinking of trying Xantrex and giving it more time but don't want to damage fridge. Any thoughts

Is the inverter connected to the outlet the fridge is on? Did you wire it up or is it a factory job.....the inverter?

The Xantrex 2000 is a "true" sin wave inverter. So it should play nicely with your frig. Like ask, check the outlet the frig is on when you are on inverter power to see if it is wired to the inverter.

I agree, chances are if you only had one receptacle in the rear of the fridge that it wasn't powered by the Inverter. Otherwise when you disconnected shore power the old RV fridge would not know when to auto-switch to LPG.
Check the receptacle to make sure that it is powered by the Inverter.
My coach had two sets of outlets, one for the old NotSoCold not powered from the Inverter and one for the ice maker powered from the Inverter. When I changed out the fridge for a Samsung RF-197 over 4 years ago it was simple, plug the residential fridge into the ice maker outlet.

A few things.
Most compressors need a few minutes to equalize the refrigerant pressures before restarting.
Did you open the door to see if the light came on ?
Are you using a ProWatt, and using the front outlets of the inverter ?
If yes, you may need to reset the GFCI while the inverter is powered. They don't reset unless power is present.

I used extension cord from inverter to fridge, even tried different cord making sure cord was ok. Yes I am using gif on front of inverter and I hooked up to toaster oven for test oven came on meter showed that it was drawing power.

Unplug the fridge for 5 or 10 minutes before plugging it in to the inverter.
It probably just needs some time off before restarting.

Could be a delay from initial startup. My RF 18 switches seamlessly when it transfers from shore to inverter, and I have a MSW inverter. I've never paid attention to what it does on initial startup, since I rarely ever turn it off unless I am working on the batteries. It's either on shore, genny, or inverter 24/7/365.

No need for a GFI on inverter to the fridge. In fact they do not recommend it if I remember correctly.

The only output of a Xantrex ProWatt SW 2000 inverter is thru a GFCI receptical.
I use a ProWatt SW 2000 running my residential fridge on my boat and a SW 1000, for TV and convenience, in my MH.
I've had the ground fault trip a few times over 8 years of use.
It always happened while plugging or unplugging my shore power cord, without switching off the breaker.
If I pull the plug fast, I can avoid it.

Just a thought. Do you have load sensing enabled? It may be that the fridge controller does not pull enough current to "wake up" the inverter. Try disabling load sensing so the inverter is outputting power whenever it is turned on.

The Xantrex ProWatt doesn't use load sensing control.

Well in that case that isn't the problem
