RF18 refrigerator problems solved?

About a month after I bought my 2002 Monaco Windsor the $4,000 "never cold" died on our first trip. We had to live for almost a month out of an ice chest. When I got back I put a Samsung rf18 in it. It fit and work great for a year-and-a-half. Then I had Sears $400 extended warranty come out and they said it was non-repairable. I ordered a Samsung modification kit from $25 from Amazon and installed it. I hope it works. The same part x 4 by themselves are only $7 from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Hotop-DA61-06796A-Evaporator-Compatible-Refrigerator/dp/B07PK92BKL/ref=asc_df_B07PK92BKL/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241917938064&hvpos=1o23&hvn etw=g&hvrand=2482598299104460934&hvpone=&hvptwo=&h vqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1026411 &hvtargid=pla-668643922282&psc=1

I'm going to put one on the other evaporator, also. My install looks very clean and factory. I took out the bottom cabinet and set the refrigerator on the floor and with the parts from the old "never cold". I built a cabinet above it for pots and pans. Also, the inverter guide so I installed a 2800 Watt inverter with auto gen start and added two more batteries to six 6V deep cycle batteries. Even without the generator starting the refrigerator run 14 hours without hookups. And holds a lot more food and a lot colder.

Photos of my install.

Yep very nice. I had to do a lot more work. Remove and relocate my furnace.

I had a different brand of fridge in the Lake House that required one of these little parts also. Piece of cake to install. Doesn't just happen to Samsung.

No it doesn’t, but the Samsung haters think it does.

OK, let me tell you about my Samsung experience. Full size fridge in house had ice maker problem, it was well known. Under warranty fixed with no problems. 70" Samsung smart TV, display was showing some weird problems. Under Warranty Samsung payed me about $800.00 more than I paid for it originally and didn't require that I buy another Samsung. What did I do, bought another Samsung TV. Every brand has their problems but Samsung has always treated me right.

This past winter I bought a Samsung (not new but less than 2 years old) that was freezing up under the cover. Did some research, spent about 100 bucks, replaced the thermistor, thermostat and defrost heater, also replaced the little metal part in the drain line to keep from freezing. When done I used aluminum tape to seal the cover to prevent air infiltration. That tape seal is important because that air causes moisture and ultimately freezing. Those repairs have kept it going great for the past almost year now. Good luck with your issues.

Here I go again. My refrigerator is acting up. All I did was replace the compressor fan blades. It’s not cooling after being on for two days. The Freon pressure is high and prior to shutting it off the pressure was at 20 psi and was working fine. Any info would be appreciated thanks

Why did they need replacing? They may only be able to go on one way but you are certain it’s on correct.

I replaced the fan because one of the blades broke off. There’s only one way to install it.

I finally gave up on my 2 1/2 year old Samsung today. I called the Home Depot and order a GE GWE19 in black.

There is currently a Class Action Lawsuit against Samsung for the “RF” models (
https://www.classaction.org/samsung-...-maker-lawsuit). From this site you can get on their mailing list to be notified when the case settles.

I have an RF28 sitting in my garage now. It iced up and needed to be defrosted weekly also had the ice maker replaced once. I defrosted it for 4 weeks before giving up and buying a different brand.

The lawsuit is for ice maker problems. After a misdiagnosis for a bad main board causing the no d frost issue it turned out to be a bad bimetel for the upper defroster.
