I got one a while back but haven't been able to really use it yet. I got it all setup and added a few Ford X-Gauges. It states on your first fill-up to only fill it until the nozzle shuts off. And of course do this every time after. Certainly makes perfect sense to keep everything accurate.
However, I can get another 6 to 10 gals more after any nozzle shuts it off. My filling hose runs down hill to the tank without any kinks or dips. So any premature shut off is just the nature of my particular beast. I've already "filled" it as instructed. My fuel gauge barely hit the Full mark. It's usually way past full and takes 70 miles or so before it gets down to where it was at when I filled it.
I'm sure the only reason for their instructions is for constant accuracy. I'm also sure if you topped it off each time it would be just as accurate, and have a closer Gal to Empty. Anyway, I'm not going to stop 70 miles short each time I fill up. Just wanted to run this by you to see what you do or have heard on this subject. Thanks!
John...
