Schwintek Slide Stuck In
Our slide is stuck in. We cannot get it out far enough to remove the motor. Any ideas?

Based on the videos we watched we need to unscrew the motor from the outside first.
Thanks

Find the controller and manually activate it if possible. Look for error codes.
Usually a cut wire and detached ground wire. Your trailer is not that old....why do you think the motor is failed? Some more info would help us help you.
Youtube has lots of videos on this procedure.

No error codes we don't think. Controller very difficult to read based on location. We never said the motor failed. We just said it was stuck in. We think it is out of syn but it will not sync up with the normal procedure. It is a bit crooked, maybe by 1/2"-3/4". Believe we need to disengage the motor, push in and reengage th motor, then resync motor.

We tried that once, will try again but will wait until we are someplace where we can get repaired if necessary and with full hookups.
Thanks

you can override the motor's 'brake' by unhooking each of the controller's wire harnesses... then 'manually' push the slide out(someone on both ends I would think)... when it's out far enough to get a screw driver or drill to the outside set screw, you can remove it, then the motor should be free to handle, or reset.
the other options is to override the motor and put it into 'full power' mode, by pushing in and holding the 'reset' button on the controller with the end of a pencil or gym clip...when the controller starts flashing, use the interior switch to try to EXTEND the slide, which should allow the motors to run at full power, and may run the slide out for you. You can certainly also help by pushing on the end of the slide that needs help while this is happening...

WE FOUND THE PROBLEM.........The motor is no longer connected to the gear box. There are scratches on the slide and the motor looks bent. After thinking a while, we believe the set screw dropped out or broke.
Have no idea how to fix, believe we can do it ourselves but will need to buy a new motor.
We will contact Winnebago to see which motor we need.

Camping World may have what you need in stock, a 500:1 gear Swchintek motor.... they replace a lot of these, so it's probably on the shelf in their workshop...just ask them for one - usually $200-$250. Easy to change to.

We might have the other motor, I am checking with Winnebago. We aren't going to be near a CW in next month or 2. I'll see if Amazon has it once I have the number, if not I may need to order from Lippert.
