second air conditioner

I have a tropicl 32 ft rig. I want to put a second air conditioner in the bed room. I checked and there are wires for one in the vent. Can i wire that up to the microwave connection and not use the microwave. or what alternitives in the wiring. Keep it simple I'm not electrical in clined thanks all Bob

An air conditioner should be wired to it's own, dedicated, breakr back in ye-old-breaker box. and I like 12ga wire for the job too. But that said, You could likely piggy back it on the microwave breaker.. Would not be code (Far as I know) but should work and be safe. For one thing if your wife is like my wife (Can't count past 2 when it comes to "Big Electrical loads" It's called Eva Gabor syndrom after her roll on the TV show Green Acres) That woudl fix it, soon as she keyed the start button on micky, CLICKY and no A/C either.

You can put in switch to select either the Micro or AC if you do not have spare circuits in load center.

If the wiring is present at the vent...I bet they run all the way to the breaker box. Shut down power, disconnect shore power and open up that box. They should be there. Just add a breaker and wire it up.
