Do a search for "extended stay propane kit". Its a kit that allows you to do exactly what your looking to do. Prices vary wildly, so figure out what you really need, then look around.

i branched off my main lp line and installed a brass shut off valve with a nipple
then purchased a 100 gallon tank
and use a flexible line to connect to nipple at the coach when we are parked at at home a long time

all parts i purchased at a home center, i bet for under 30 dollars.
the lp guys added a regulator at the big tank and set the flow to function with our rv

I was going to buy an Extend-A-Stay at Camping World a few years back and a campground worker said he would make me one and install it for half the price of Camping World. I have used it on two motorhomes to connect to 100 lb LP bottles. Works great.

With a lot of places charging close to $100 or more, here's a place @ $55 : Extend-A-Stay Propane Kit 536-00

For $55, I'd prolly just by it...

If you install the "T" between the permanent tank and the regulator, you won't need another regulator for the extra tank. That is how we set our home brewed unit up.

I want to set up my discovery 2000 36T with a aux propane tank using the extend a stay hookup. My on board tank fills thru a outlet at rear to my main onboard tanke thru a kill switch. What conversion do I have to make to connect the outside tank(s) to my RV
