Since my 15 year old Safari Sahara coach is in need of a cure for faulty
gray and black tank level monitors, and since the SeeLevel units have been installed dating back 3 or 4 years, according to a search on these forums, I have a few questions for users and former users of SeeLevel gauges.
1.) Has anyone used them on tanks that have reached 15 years old, and that have never been professionaly cleaned? (RV Proctoligist in AZ $150)
2,) How reliable are they over time? (2-3-4 years)
3.) I am thinking about the Model 711. (currently $169.89 + frt) Has anyone used that model?
Any comments are welcome!
Thanks,
Mel

Can't answer specifically but here is a installation in a coach that has the white fiberglass tanks.
Before sticking on sensor strips they clean outside of tank which will sense water level inside.
If you think your tanks are that dirty inside I would fill with bleach and drive around for a while which should clean the sidewalls inside.
I do not think you really have to worry about it though.
Here are other different installations also.

I have the SeeLevel as factory equipment in my 2004 coach, so they are 11 years old now and still working good. After about 5 years I got enough sludge build-up on the walls of the black tank that the readings get erratic, so I filled it with water and add an enzyme tank cleaner such as Roebic 67 and let it sit for a couple days. Those little enzyme critters devour the sludge and all is well again. The fresh tank gauge has always performed perfectly and the gray is good too. I'm a fan of SeeLevel and recommend them highly.

No problems with ours after 5 1/2 years. When the rig was new from the factory one of the sensors was wrong but that was because the circuit that is taped to the tank wasn't secure...took the tech about 5 minutes to find & fix.
