Mine quite working, it would run 45 seconds and then shut itself off. The light, fan and table still worked. It was a defect in earlier Sharpe models. Their is a switch that senses heat and waits and then opens the vent to exhaust hot air. It was bad from the factory. I could not find anyone to work on it in the coach. Since it cost me to have it taken out and put back in at the RV Dealer anywaay, I just ordered a new one on line and had the Dealer replace the old one.

Try turning it on and see if it runs for 45 seconds before it shuts off in the microwave setting.

I'm under the impression that all microwave ovens have a fuse inside. Does yours?

It sure does help when we know what model of equipment help is being requested on. But all microwaves do have a fuse and if it blows nothing will work. There are door switches for safety that could and is one of the first things to stop the magnetron from firing. There are thermostats that can open and not reset. There is a large diode on the transformer that can open. The control board can have a problem and there are fans that must run to keep the magnetron cool. Out of the thousands that I have repaired many times it is the door switches that fail. It should be able to have door switches replaced without even pulling it off the wall if it is an over the range style.

Sorry i should have said the microwave is a Sharpe Carousel R1480, i don't think that it is the fuse as everything works apart from heating up the food, the door switches sound like the next thing to look at, do you know where we could obtain these from, we live in England and am not sure where to look to buy them on the internet.
thank you for your help.
