Our Dometic Royale model 3862 has huge
buildups of ice and frost. If we run it
at three, it dumps water all over. If we run
it higher, the freezer frosts over and
even the fins in the fridge section develop
icecyles. I'm told that I need a new seal.
The present seal doesn't pass the 'paper test',
I.e it can't hold a sheet when closed. It
couldn't hold ten sheets, I'd guess. Anybody
got a clue how to fix this thing? Is re-sealing
the way to go?

thanks

Art the age of your fridge 1998 about, the seals must have dried out. An RV Dealer or RV supply should have a replacement seals. If you peel back rubber you will see screws, metal strip that hold seal to door.
