As I wrote in my Sealand thread, we are on our shakedown cruise in our new rig.

Try this one on for size:

When hooked to city water, all faucets work normally except for the shower. The shower has very low water pressure on city water. Flip the pump switch on and it is normal.
This makes no sense does it?

See if there's a flow restrictor to the shower head. Unscrew the head from the hose & look for a little plastic disc with a hole in it.

Makes perfect sense to me.. Shower takes a lot of water more than anyhing else save perhaps the toilet (And you tend not to notice)

If you have the following city water setup

park---Regulator---Filter---Rig You won't get a good shower

If you change it

Park----Filter-Regulator-Rig You may get a good shower.. and if the park pressure hits 120 or higher you may get a new filter or hose (yes, I have seen 120psi on a park water pressure meter, and higher)

If you do this

Park-pre-filter set to say 70 PSI----------Filter--regulator--Rig (second regulator is set to 45-50 PSI) I've taken many a very nice shower

Also the filter needs to have the capacity
And the regulator.. Regulators come in several types

The one that is about 3/4 inch round cylinder male and female hose thredes. NO joy in shower with that restrictive sucker
Same one with a bright plastic/rubber grip on the female end (HIGH CAPACITY or HIGH VOLUME) there is hope.. but I give it a "B"

Watts or Valterra "Whole House" 1/2 inch or larger: There is JOY
My first regulator is a 3/4 " watts

SurFlo (The folks who make RV water pumps) THERE IS JOY (That's my #2)

The flow restrictor in the shower head (if any) is the same for city water or pump, so that's not it. You will probably like the shower more if you remove it, however.

My guess is that there is a built-in pressure regulator in the city inlet and it likely has a low flow rate. If so, change the inlet to one without a regulator and use an external 'whole house" regulator that has a decent rate of flow, something greater than the 1.5- 2.0 gpm that most RV store regulators have.

I had the same problem and I removed the water saver on the shower head. Works great now.. I only dry camp two or three days at a time so water use is not a concern...
