Shower head installation

Trying to figure out how to remove the shower head to replace it.

It has a black connecter between the faucets. Each end has a slot that seems to slide onto the faucets, but can't figure out how to move them apart to pull it out and replace it.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I see it now. I'll move this to Rv systems and appliances to get a broader view for you.

I think to remove the faucet you will need to access the back side of it. Some RV manufacturers provide a means of access, and some don't. Look for a panel on the other side of the wall behind the faucet. If there is none, you may need to cut a hole and install a panel afterward. Access panels in various sizes are available at home improvement stores, or you can try to make your own if you are handy.

Some RV manufacturers provide access with a water-proof marine screw-in deck plate right through the shower wall below the faucet. Another option would be to cut a hole below the faucet and install one of those if there is no other access.

Well you are half way to a shower HEAD replacement in the photo. Somehow I do not think that is what you are trying to replace.

The photo is not a shower HEAD, it is a mixing valve.

About the only fixture other than the toilet not a standard "House" type is that mixer valve, but mounting of the mixer valve **IS** standard.

Take a look at a sink (kitchen or bathroom) as you will notice, if it is a two knob type fixture, there is a nut on the 1/2 inch pipe below the sink that holds it.

This is the same thing.. on the back side (the other side of the wall panel where you can not see, where the pipes connect)

is a nut,, You first disconnect the pipe from the fixture

Then you can back the nut off

Then you pull the mixer valve out toward you

Replacement is reverse

NOW: on MY shower, there is a portal just below the thing so I can reach in. I recommend removal not only of the portal screw in insert but the ring as those screws will really mess up your hands.
