Aftermarket water pump installed by previous owner, 6-8 y.o.
Pump works fine, until it doesn't. Repeated on-off cycles with swwitch make no difference. Next morning it may work again.

Checked wiring, tight & snug. 12 v. present at pump. Tapping yields no result. Suggestions???

On house water pumps the opening to the pressure switch used to plug up with rust or minerals. I haven't had an RV pump apart yet but this could be a cause of your problem. I am a retired country master plumber.

Thanks guys, for the clues. Since we are heading to warm weather (from WY & CO) I took the easy way out and got the "Sale Price" replacement at Camping World. I'll perform an autopsy on the old one when we get to Yuma.

You can vary carefully Take that Big plastic end off on the pump .. It has philips screws. I put a towel under it so I dont loose any thing. You take that off and clean it out ,there generaly is some calcium build up. Clean the screen on the little bowl It comes apart 1/4 turn. I take mine apart yearly and clean it ; Works perfect.. Good luck ;; life is good.
