I have a Shurflow Extreme Series 5.7 water pump. There is a "U" Clamp or it can be called a clip the connects the quick connect fittings for the pump. I had on of the U clamp fall off. I can put it back on and everthing is fine while we are in the RV park, however it will fall off again after driving. There is only one way that it can be installed but it does not seem to clip in very hard. I think that it may be streched. Does any one know where I can buy a placement part? I have attached a picture of it.
Thanks,
Jeff

I have the same pump, and have experienced problems trying to buy fittings. Since the pumps have apparently not been very popular, no one around here stocks parts. They are available, but have to be ordered. I'm sure any RV store that sells Shurflo can order the clips for you.
And don't bother trying to contact Shurflo directly. Been there, done that. Their customer service sucks.
Looking at your picture, I can see that the clip is spread. Take the clip off the other side of the pump for comparison, then drop this clip in some boiling water. It may soften up enough that you can bend it back into the correct shape. If that's not hot enough to work, try a deep fryer set at about 350-375. It's amazing what you can do with plastic, and it might save you the aggravation of dealing with Shurflo.
The bottom line is I would never buy this pump again. It was very expensive and has been a big disappointment. It is highly overrated.
Actually, this pump and Shurflo have irritated me so much I will probably never buy another Shurflo pump. I will buy Flojet from now on.

Thanks I'll try the boiling water this week-end.

I've had a few problems with the Shurflo 5.7 but I haven't experienced the same level of frustration with their service department as Jim. In fact, quite the opposite. As full-timers, we've run both Shurflos and Flojets and in my opinion, the 5.7 is the quietest and most powerful RV pump on the market. The 5.7 is a high capacity pump that works great when you want good water pressure. However, it shouldn't be installed in a rig that has a low-flow in-line water filter or restrictive "water-saver" fittings because the high back pressure can damage the 5.7.
As for the fittings, they are available at many online and offline RV parts suppliers. The boiling water may work if the plastic used has the right properties. But in some cases, its impossible to get it back into its original shape. Best of luck.

To be fair, I'll admit I'm probably being a bit hard on Shurflo because of the lack of any response I've had from them. But they've earned it.
I would like to think the 5.7 is a good pump, and that's why I spent a bunch of money on it. My pump was made in May 2004, so I probably installed it about July or August of that year. I have learned just recently that the early pumps had some issues, and those manufactured since Dec 2006 are somehow redesigned.
Enough bashing, let me go back to your original problem. The part you need can be had if you can't fix yours. But something has caused it to spread like that. It didn't just happen spontaneously. I suspect that connection is under some kind of strain. When you fix or replace that clip you should also resolve whatever caused it to fail. A good solution is to use a flexible line to connect from the plumbing to the pump, and make it long enough to put a loop in it. That removes any strain and also dampens any vibration. Shurflo actually makes a kit to do just that. They call it a "Pump Silencing Kit."

I'm going to go to a RV repair place and see if they have the part that I need. I went tp CW today and they didn't have it and no idea on how to order it. I found that the clamp comes with the water strainer but I was't going to put out $20.00 for some thing that I already have just to get the clamp. If I can't get it tomorrow at the other RV place I found it on line and will order it. I agree that somthing made it spread and will look at that.

Take a closer look at that C-Clamp because if I remember, it latches only in one position. I replaced mine in Quartzsite, so it's been awhile, but I remember rotating it to find the sweet spot.

I went to Nelson RV in Vacaville and got the new clamp. I installed it and it felt like it took more pressure to put it in place. We will be leaving on a trip in Aug and I'll find out if this fixes the problem.
