Hi because you guys drive on the wrong side of the road you give us brits problems, one of which is overtaking safely, on busy motorways (turnpikes?)if a small car gets up close to the passenger side front wheel I can't see him.

Doesn't matter how I adjust the mirrors they are to far forward to do the job. And its even worse if its dark and raining, I nearly took out a Micra the other week.

So I thought why not fit a reversing camera at head height to the passenger side front of the RV. Along with a reversing camera at the rear in the normal position.

Problem is it the image would be on its side, and I don't want two screens, so my question is: Can you get cheap imaging software that would allow me to manipulate two camera inputs into a laptop (via two USB tv adaptors possibly?) I assume its not possible to join two camera feeds together, and display both images simultaneously on a normal tv or monitor screen (I have a redundant 14" lcd tv/pc monitor) aka "picture in picture".

Olley, the side view cameras came on my Vectra, but are available for after market purchase.
If you already have a rear view camera and dash monitor, these operate with the corresponding turn signal....Here's a pic of the driver's side camera.

Ollie, Check with Tim at RV CAms. (The link has already been posted)

He showed me a display the other day that you can put three inputs to. You can also split screen with it. I THINK he told me you can have it scroll thru the inputs as well. Or have the image change with your blinker to whatever side you have the blinker on for...

I have known Tim for MANY years. He and his wife are just plain old good folks. (RV'rs too)

Ollie,Don has great advice....

Even after sitting in the dealership doing the PDI and seeing how everything worked, the first time I put the turn signal on it scared the peehockadoodle out of me for s split second...."Where'd the car go that was just behind me"???

Mine switches to the appropriate side cam when the turn signal is activated....

Ollie.....gosh I should have thought of this earlier but the brain has cobwebs....

Here is a link to fellow iRV2 poster John Canfield's camera installation on his 2004 Horizon....He bought the cams from the RVCams place listed above...(Didn't know that til I remembered John's page...)

John took MANY pictures and has a tremendously descriptive narrative on his site.

He's also a daily contributor here and can easily be reached!!

How's that??
