So the trojan's need to be replaced!!!They have 1800ah, 8-12 would only be 1280. I dont think that would work very long. Do you prefer Lifeline or Trojan AGM's.

While you did not specify what Trojan batteries you have,
If you have eight 6 volt T-105 Trojans connected as four 12 volt sets you will only have 900AH total (4 x 225AH). 2 6 volt batteries in series doubles the votage not the total AH.
Assuming you have the physical space for the longer length Group 27 ( Trojan SCS200) 12 volt battery then you would have 920AH (8 x 115AH).
The even longer Trojan Group 31 AGM would give you 816 (8 x 102AH) though the life of an AGM is usually longer thean the wet cells. All of those figures are based on the 20hr rating.

Battery selection might be driven by physical storage requirements (Length x Width x Height) rather than battery AH rating.

THank you for the info. We were looking at 12v Blue top optima AGM: however they are 2 inches longer each one. SO we have decided to go with lifeline gpl-4ct. Have you had experience ordering them on line. We would save tax and 25$dollars each.Since we need 8 at 275(on line-no shipping) vs 300 plus tax. How would you tell if they r old or new? by date.
