Skirt heating

I am putting a canvas skirt around my class A. I was wondering if I should also put a heat lamp or light to at heat in weather below freezing? Keep in mind I will be using propane and my tank sits center of the RV, will that be any danger?

Thanks

If your wet bay is heated, I see no need for added heat under the RV unless you're talking about overnight temps in the teens or single digits.

If you do decide to add heat, you can use standard incandescent light bulbs instead of heat lamps. You will be surprised at how much heat you can get off 3 or 4 60W bulbs. If you keep them away from the immediate area of the LP tank there should be no problem with overheating.

You may want to invest in a wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer to monitor the temp under the RV regardless of whether you decide to add extra heat or not. Better yet, get a wireless refrigerator thermometer. It has dual temperature sensors - one for the refrigerator and one for the freezer. Use the remote sensors to monitor both the temp in the wet bay and under the RV.

Thanks, I had a regular light bulb in the wet bay and found (by using a wireless thermometer) that I could not keep the temps in the wet bay above freezing. I added a heat lamp and put it on a thermostat switch, which worked fine.

I will put the wireless thermometer under the RV and try a light bulb if we stay in temps in the teens.

Thanks

We use old fashioned Christmas lights strung in our citrus trees controlled by thermostat to help in cold weather...looks nice on cold days...

Dayton makes a switch good for 20 amps that has local or remote sensing that yiu can mount in a bay and have the sensor in the sweet spot.

Place controlled outlet someplace then get strings of old style lights as yiu have a bunch of small heaters that can be spread out and less chance of total fail.

Not sold at stores anymore but about a buck a 25 light string at yard sales.

Or any other light will work.

That makes it automatic and easy setup.
